After all the noise generated by the Mo'hits breakup and the sudden appearance of Mavin records, the accusations and counter accusations, the media hype and all, i decided to publish my own view of the whole issue from a cynical point.
What if there was never a quarrell between D'banj and Don jazzy? what if this whole saga was a well planed and played out publicity technique to break marketing barriers and create a new record?
Entertainers are attention seekers thats why you find wierd hairdos and dress sense just to get the attention of the public because attention sells them. In the past four years D'banj hasnt released any album but has remained a powerhouse in Africa with singles that were first condemned and later accepted. Don jazzy on the other hand has made his name a brand in Africa, my question here is, how come there is a sudden urge to break Mo'hits when it looks more promising.
Analytically i think the whole saga was a publicity stunt as D'banj tries to break into the global market but went too far and then there was a need for a Mavin records to replace Mo'hits to make it look very real.
D'banj and Don jazzy have been on the news regularly for a while. while Dbanj is trying to hit platinum with his yet to be released album, Don jazzy jumped on the free publicity to introduce a new label that became an instant hit. The dou has shown to us how legendary they are when it comes to business so i wont be surprised if D'banj secretly co owns Mavin records because whether you support D'banj or Don jazzy on this issue, they will both benefit immensely from this publicity such as has never been witnessed in Nigeria before. While Mr D'banj will hit platinum sale in the U.S and U.K respectively, Don jazzy will rake in more millions for Mavin records. So for those gossipping and tweeting, continue while they make their money. from hype9ja we say good luck to these great minds
