NO MORE RANTING - Kanye West
Kanye West promised not to say anything negative about anyone or anything for at least six months in the last stop of his Yeezus concert.
Everything I'm saying that’s not allowed, soak it in right now. This might be the last time y’all hear me talk s*** for a long time. Might be another like 6 months, at least. You’re just gonna have to run back the interviews and sh*t if you wanna hear some realness!
"I’m gonna tell y’all right now that all of the ideas, what they call the rants the streams of consciousness that I express, I told y’all, save those tapes and everything because I’ve decided to completely focus everything in 2014, on new ideas and on creative outlets. I’m not [going to] ever bring up Nike again, and the only way I’ll bring them up is in a positive light … I’ll never bring up the Grammys again in a negative light, because I actually appreciate the 21 Grammys that I did win.”
"Because I’m not [trying] to be a dude that has all the opportunities in the world and only focuses on the negative, or complains about it, or just gets in some type of zone that just having to turn up all the time and sh*t. So I’m letting you all know that this is the last Yeezus show, and this is the last time you’ll ever hear me say negative about anyone.."
We look forward to seeing him keep his promise.

I LOST STAR SEARCH IN '93 - BEYONCE
Queen Bey who is currently smashing various records with her 5th solo album shows footages in her "flawless" music video of how she and her Houston, Texas-based hip hop group Girl's Tyme weren't considered winners by the Star Search judges and losing to the rockers Skeleton Crew back in 1993.
Girl's Tyme was managed by Beyonce's father Mathew Knowles before later becoming hit group Destiny's Child. In the clip, the Star Search announcer Ed McMahon introduces them as "Beyonce, LaTavia, Nina, Nikki, Kelly and Ashley, the hip-hop rappin' Girl's Tyme!"
LaTavia Roberson and Kelly Rowland later joined Beyonce in Destiny's Child along with original member LeToya Luckett when the group formed in 1996.
Beyonce and her former group members aren't alone in losing Star Search before going on to greatness. Pop stars Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Usher, and LeAnn Rimes are just a few of the notable celebs who lost the show back in the early '90s.
Beyonce talked about her decision to include the footage in a YouTube clip explaining her fifth studio album.
"When I was in the studio, I was threading the songs together, and I thought of this performance, which was a really defining moment in my life as a child," she said of her Star Search attempt. "In my mind we would perform on Star Search, we would win, we would get a record deal, and that was my dream at the time. There's no way in the world I would have ever imagined losing as a possibility. I was only 9 years old. At that time you don't realize that you could work super hard and give everything you have and lose. It was the best message for me."
"Flawless" also features a voice over from Nigerian feminist writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, who talks about the double standard for men and women today.
"Everything she said is exactly how I feel," Beyonce said of the author's work. "My message behind this album was finding the beauty in imperfection."

ICE PRINCE PERFORMS ABOKI WITH SON JAMAL
Last weekend was a big one for Nigerian rap star Ice Prince and his Chocolate City record label as he launches his sophomore album titled Fire of Zamani (FOZ). The concert which had high profile Nigerian superstars like Phyno, Mode9, M.I Abaga and international act Chipmunk performing, saw the rapper bring his son Jamal who was very shy on stage to perform his hit single 'aboki' with him.
MO'HITS IS THAT YOU?
Could there be a plan to bring back Mo'hits records? Don Jazzy and D'banj were spotted together at Ice Prince's album launch over the weekend sharing a cigar and having a good time. We really miss them together and if they decide to come back, we are still here for them.

What Jonathan needs to win in 2015 by Showunmi Rex
President Jonathan is contesting come 2015. That does not seem to be news anymore, it is so obvious no body needs a college degree to figure that out. That is the perceived factor causing the imbroglio within the PDP. Actually, it is not that the average Nigerian is against this in itself only that how His Excellency is going about it is what is drawing resentment and that is what his opponents are capitalising on.
If you ask me, i'll opine that Mr President does not need this mud he's dragging himself into. Unlike, most of his adversary I believe he won the last election however, what I may not vouch for was that voters weren't induced. Like a friend pointed out, the rumour that his campaign spent up to a 100 million every day on the build up to the election proper was justified with the 1.3 trillion subsidy fraud declaration. As we all knew most of the campaign financier were either oil moguls or their proteges. Caveat, all these are assumptions.
Mr Jonathan's campaign will go down in history as one of the most sophisticated electioneering campaign in Nigeria. But then, with so much money and power play there is just little you cannot do. That is where my headache starts, did the President sack all the think -tank that delivered the 2011 mandate hurriedly ? Because, the President's popularity seems to be drowning with every event unfolding. However, that may not be the cause.
Mega campaign, meagre results
Well, this is what I can say, President Jonathan promised alot during his campaign, so much that made his achievements meagre and very unnoticeable, so much that the people are not actually feeling the positivity in his government. Four out of every Five graduates are still without jobs; the roads are still not motorable, food is still very expensive and the value of the Nigerian Naira is still dwarfing to foreign currencies, among others. Before GEJ's fans accuse me of being cynical about his government may I mention that I see the renovations in our Airports, I've had to ,during an air travel, obtain my boarding pass under a canopy to make that achievement stick in my head. I've not been to the Enugu International airport but my friend who flew to Enugu last week had great experience of the place. And this gladdens my heart.
And our own Minister for Agriculture seems to be putting in place projects that will undoubtedly favour the country long term green revolution. The Cassava branding, the bank lending promotions, among others are well thought out, as well.
2015 Navigation Deciders
I'll keep emphasizing the fact that Mr President will determine who becomes President in 2015. A subtle way of saying the race is his to lose. Going by Nigeria's distribution, Mr President is next to God in the power he has to himself and only him(the holder of the office) can either desecrate the position or exploit it exhaustively.
Quality not Ethnic- based Campaign
That is why I laughed when Governor Akpabio and Elder Edwin Clark based their logic for the Goodluck 2nd term on thoughts like "We respected President Y'ardua and so President Jonathan deserves same" and " OBJ did two terms therefore this Ijaw man too must go for his second term" , respectively.
With due respect, let me mention that according to the dictates of politics every man must work out his own 'salvation' and it must be centred on the political necessity of the moment. Times are changing and so are the people, too. You don't appeal to former gestures or good deeds of the past; rather, you should think of the better way of appealing to people's interest. This new Nigeria is moving away from having rights to some benefits or privileges because you are from a particular region. Nigeria is wearing a "central culture" identity and more than your tribal affiliations, the Class you belong to is becoming the bane of bond and identity. That informs why a boy of Igbo origin will bond very well with the Yoruba boy that was his roomie in college at Harvard than his kinsman that lives at their village in Nnewi.
So the first people Mr President need to curb are his foot soldiers making offensive tribal statements. The President needs to distance himself from playing the ethnic card, it won't work! Not this time. All Barack Obama's campaign was never based on the "Black race agitation". He appealed, instead, to the young minds with a message of hope, of change and of a better America.
True and Cohesive Transformation
Although GEJ's campaign in 2011 also navigated around this paradigm , the fear of Mr President, it seems, is that he has not delivered up to the expectation of the people. But for me, that shouldn't deter him from still running an inspiring campaign come 2015. Mr President only needs to focus more on sectors like Agriculture, Power and Petroleum resources(esp Gas)
Jobs !Jobs!! Jobs!!!
Job creation and Power will be a deciding factor in how much acceptance Mr President gets ahead of 2015 general elections. The Chancelor of Germany proved this assertion right with her re-election for a Third Term as the Country's Leader. Germany,it is widely attested, have created more jobs as its economy continues to grow more nourished.
Put Family in Order
Mr President needs to broker peace with his party members. Already, rusty leadership has caused the division within the PDP. And if that crisis is not well managed it may lead to something disastrous for his presidential ambition. GEJ's enemy within started with the 2011 elections where he downplayed the activities of the Party. His campaign wasn't fully orchestrated by the Party machinery and it seemed to work though, because most of the electorate I spoke with made statements like "I voted for Goodluck Jonathan not PDP" to justify their decision.
Rapport the West
Even after the election, Mr President's relationship with former President Obasanjo turned sour. It took time and pressure to appoint cronies into federal parastatal Boards. Also, GEJ's indifference to the South West has not helped the party's growth in the region.Since he became President, the Yorubas were left out of the first ten positions in power. Also, the sack of former Governor Oyinlola as National Secretary of the party and the reality of a divided House of PDP in South West is no small issue. It could turn around to haunt him and his dreams.
My advise; Dr Jonathan must try as much as possible to put his house in order if he truly wants to taste the fruit again in 2015. Eagle Square is waiting.

WALE APPLAUSE INTERVIEWS LESU
Sometimes during the week, I tuned my radio to a popular station in Lagos and then this music hit me. It was not the conventional everyday kind of music that we have around these days. It was very different and had an instant connection with me. I felt the passion and difference in the song. It was a beautiful tune. I impatiently waited for the presenter to introduce the artiste as I needed to know the new generation artiste that decided to do Afro this good.
The OAP introduced him as Lesu Lemon. I was fascinated with his music and Google helped me know more about him. He has 2 songs currently being aired on many radio stations across the country and also doing well in the online media.
African hair and Silifaa are 2 very good songs which promote our African culture and pride without failing to entertain. These songs made an entire playlist on m,y phone which was on repeat for days.
This young man Lesu Lemon is indeed a great artiste with a difference. I am sure he picked up a couple attributes from Fela Anikulapo Kuti. In my opinion, I think we need to see and hear more of this young man Lesu Lemon.
Here are excerpts of our conversation
Lesu lemon, what’s the concept behind the name?
It all started in the hood, I mean with friends in my area years back, we usually have competition like street jamz and football ,anytime we lose to them I used to say Forget Ile A Su Ile A Mon (LeSu LeMon) that was where the whole concept came from.
Why and when did you decide to do the Afrobeat genre of music that you do?
Yeah I decided to choose Afrobeat because I love Late Baba Fela and his Music a lot, it sounds matured, real and natural to me, so one day I made up my mind to be like him when I grow up. That why I chose Afrobeat.
What is your connection with the maestro FELA?
I call him My Music Father.
Lesu lemon, can I meet you?
My name is Fagoroye Oluropo Opeyemi a native of Ibadan Oyo State Nigeria, born in mid 80’s in Ibadan, last born of three, two sisters, A Christian. An undergraduate studying micro biology at University of Abuja.
A brief into your past and how growing up was for you?
Let just give thanks to God because the past was kind of rough but with God we survived. Like every ghetto man will say, living in the ghetto is not that easy, but all thanks to God we coped and survived till today.
Do you mean to tell me that you are a strictly Afrobeat artiste?
Yes O, ararara orororo, like I said, I wanted to do Afrobeat like baba Fela, but one thing is that you can't do it as baba Fela did, but now I want to modify or let me say create New Skool Afrobeat by blending Afrobeat to Afro-hiphop, Afro-Street And Many more, but still Afrobeat with message.
Do all your songs always carry messages; I mean you don’t do songs just for dancehalls and parties?
Like My Music brother Seun Kuti would say Afrobeat without message is not Afrobeat, so most of my music have messages ,like that of African Hair is a message for everybody. Even my second track Silifaa with Suspect still has a message like an African girl driving me crazy, so it all messages
What should we expect from you in the nearest future?
Expect more big tunes from me I mean real Afrobeat tunes because am ready to show the whole world that I have the energy, passion and have the spirit in me and also Afrobeat lives on.
What was the reaction of your family and people around you when you started doing music, especially the Afrobeat genre that you do?
Let me be real with you, some friends and people around did not believe in my dream. I remember the first day I told my people back home that I want to do music, my parents asked me if I was ok, but later on after I released my first track *African Hair* my mum told me well done and prayed for to carry on with my dreams also most of my friends have joined the movement now.
At a point, do you fused other genres of music into yours tell us more?
Yes o, As you know Nija people love to dance because we are happy people, that’s why i featured Suspect on the Silifaa track, it is just Afrobeat with a different rhythm and people enjoyed it because i received a lot of positive comments.
When you dropped African hair, what do you think the reception of your fans was?
African Hair is message for everyone, like I told you the track is super dope and rich in lyrics and tune, some girls disliked me because of it, but later on agree with me that am saying the truth ,they all accepted it.
Message to your fans
To all my fans out there, I love you guys, you guys are wonderful for accepting my genre of music thank you all, i promise to continue to deliver and give you guys good music. Eledumare be with you all.

SYNDIK8 RAPPER LYNXXX DENIES STABBING ACCUSATION
This
is a direct response to the accusations in various media regarding an
alleged stabbing and assault by Lynxxx at Club Entyce in Lagos last
Friday 8th March when he attended Praiz's birthday celebrations.
At no time did Lynxxx assault or stab anyone.
It
is unfortunate that instead of verifying the accuracy and extent of the
incident, some media outlets have chosen to propagate unfounded rumours
and speculations. Contrary to the rumours circulating the web, it is
important that we communicate the following:
- Lynxxx did not Stab or assault any customer at n-tyce Club on 8th march 2013.
- No stabbing or assault occurred on 8th March 2013 at n-tyce Club.
- At no point did Lynxxx arm himself with a bottle or any other weapon.
- Lynxxx was at the event with only 3 members of Syndik8
The
incident in question occurred when "Pope" slapped and sexually harassed
a young female who is Lynxxx's friend and his manager's cousin, which
led to an outcry by many present, including celebrities such as Banky W,
Uti and Lynxxx. Seeing as the young female was in tears and distraught
they requested that Pope apologise directly to her, which they believed
was only right given the severity of his actions. They were however
disappointed when no apology was made and even worse when the club staff
did not appear to take the situation seriously.
These allegations have now become a police matter and a civil suit for defamation of character.
Thank you for continued support for Lynxxx
We take this very seriously and we would be happy to respond to further enquiries, Please email : Chin@EclipseWestAfrica.com
Best Regards
